Description 1995-2003 Ford 7.3L Power Stroke Diesel Exhaust Back Pressure EBP Sensor AP63403 Alliant Power part number AP63403 Exhaust Back Pressure (EBP) sensor for 1995-2004 Ford 7.3L 6.0L Power Stroke, Navistar T444E, and VT365 diesel engines. This diesel exhaust back pressure sensor sends information back to the engine control module which is used in controlling the variable vane turbocharger.  These sensors, along with the tube that they are connected to, are known to get clogged with exhaust soot.  Improper readings lead to boost control problems and over or under boost codes.  Check the engine serial number to be sure you get the correct part number.
